Birth of a new necklace.....
I really enjoy sketching ideas from my collection of beach pebble finds but the main part of the process involves playing about with shapes, forms, pattern and colour using elements of silver and found objects
until I am happy with the balance and proportion.....

Hello , it's been a while since I posted to my blog , too much Facebooking !!

Thought I would post up some of my work from last year which is currently in the lovely shop in the DCA in Dundee. The silver is combined with laser cut and engraved acrylic which I explored through a grant from Fife Council and with the help of the DCA Print room. Loved adding a new material to my work incorporating my interest in pattern !!

New work

I am about to start developing some new ideas and introduce some new techniques to my work thanks to the award of a Visual Arts and Crafts grant from Fife Council. The plan is to develop new ideas for pattern and recreate them on aluminium also laser cut paper and acrylic. The pattern influence will be nostalgic and personal  and I am going to enjoy delving into my collection of vintage fabrics, ceramics, magasine cuttings and familty photographs for inspiration! Particularily excited about the crocheted blankets in my family caravan , my mum's 70s coffee set and her 50s fabric knitting basket!
Here is a little sample of aluminum tests I did last week.
